I’m debating replacing Gia with Mabel, because I think I love Mabel more, and moving Gia down the list. Mabel would also be in one of my triplet combos, for boy-girl-girl, with Callum and Eloise. Yes, let’s chat about cross-culture naming for a second here. Callum’s Scottish, Eloise’s French, and Mabel’s English. Oy. I don’t know if she goes with the other two, but the combo is making me swoon as I type-ith.

My sister insists that it’s too old-lady, but I think she fits perfectly. Then again, I do tend to live in the monkey house, here.

In the second grade I used a nickname, an elaboration on the first syllable of my two-syllable forename, on half a dozen spelling tests or so, then dropped it. My parents constantly insisted that they chose my name because of it’s non-nickname assumption. I begged to differ. Four years later I was Cora, this time on a full years worth of school papers, and dropped it again.

I’ve stuck with the full version ever since, coming to accept it as the inevitable, and reassess the situation once my 18th rolls around. We’ll see…

Cecily’s been my name for about half a dozen days, on the interwebs anyway, and I like it a lot. Allegra’s fun too. I’d use it in a heartbeat for teh up-and-coming kiddies del futuro except the stupid allergy medicine scooped it up a number of years ago, and I’ve despised them ever since, never fear.
